FREIRAUM
|
The artistic event was realised in the framework of Freiraum, a program of 40 Goethe Institutes around Europe, that focuses on the thematic of isolation and the search for identity within a (troubled) European Union, in a globalised reality.
POST_BORDERS tackled key issues of our time such as the various symbolic borders (individual and common, existential, psychological and social, gender and racial, cultural and political), but also the possibilities of overcoming or even abolishing them, using as a vehicle the free speech of poetry. In such a context, opposing or even antagonistic concepts such as limitation and osmosis, rupture and reunification, division and rehabilitation, exile and reintegration, fear and freedom, isolation and contact were positively charged and begun to become a catalyst for the exploration of new hybrid channels of communication and constructive exchange. A poetry event about the diversity that ultimately unites us, and about the bridges that people put together to unite what separates us from ourselves and from each other. META_ΣΥΝΟΡΑ | POST_BORDERS was realised on Sunday 9th of December, at the old Municipal Slaughterhouse of Thessaloniki where LABattoir project is located and was attended by approximately 100 people.
